Score out of 10: 8.0/10

The good: The Samsung UpStage SPH-M620-black has a pretty good call and music quality, comprehensive battery life and it includes stereo Bluetooth, music player, a megapixel camera, and EV-DO support. It is a dual side mobile grabs the attention of the public towards it.

The bad: The UpStage phone is confusing at times because of dual-side usage; each side has a different usage some time it mess up the user. Its display options are also limited. In this touch pad mobile playing game is a difficult task.

There is a lot riding on the shoulders of T-Mobile’s G1 Android phone.
In some ways, it carries the collective hopes of Linux, open source
and Google fans everywhere. It’s open, collaborative and
community-based, in other words, everything the iPhone and Windows
Mobile aren’t. As so many onlookers crowd around this newborn phone,
there’s no way it can hold up all of their expectations—and it
doesn’t.

After spending a week using the G1, I can say it’s a good start, and a
clear indication of good Android developments to come. But the phone
itself has some serious problems with accessibility and usability,
issues that no number of third-party apps are going to be able to
solve. Here’s what I loved and hated about the T-Mobile G1.

The images are pretty good due to the included facilities like flash, self timer, and digital zoom; but we should keep our hands steady to get good photos this makes the user to get irritated at times. The call quality is clear sometimes but fragile mostly when used. It includes 3.3 hours of talk time. Generally it is a descent phone for normal usage but needs to be improvised.

The SPH M300 comes with screen clarity and has a simple usage. The buttons are spacious but they are slippery and difficult to handle; it is very hard to press and gives strain to the user. It brings trouble in typing also only 3 texts can be typed continuously it lacks in T9 input and text messaging is also blurry. Its attribute brings stress to the user and they’re out of politeness. It comes with nice color, long-lasting feature, and a lovely look. The menus are easy-to-use type it make the task better. Its battery life is very poor it not even stands for a day use. The journey of life can be divided into predominantly three phases: the past, the present n the future…err…hmmmm….…I had succumbed to the gods of boredom and my stagnant brain was unable to dish out the appropriate words…so I will stick to the phases as mentioned before. The past, the good old school days were a different era altogether for me, a life sans the technological marvels that has invaded our lives in the past couple of years. I guess even my parents and people from that generation would have felt the same way. The childhood days are so different for each of these generations which is why I chose to reminiscence my school days (also inspired by a mail forwarded to me) lest I forget how they were like, ten years down the line.

Those were the days …

- when the day after a long vacation was looked forward to, since that meant I got to wear an entire new set of clothes, shoes and a school bag.

- when I was excited about the new term ,new class, new books..

- when the left over pages from the previous years notebooks were used for rough work or patched together to form a new ‘copy’.

- when I diligently covered my text books with brown cover paper.

- when Chandamama, chacha chaudhuri, tintin, hardy boys series were the books we exchanged among friends

- when I was crazy about collecting stamps and movie postcards, which came with a particular bubble gum sold in one of the shanties right in front of our school

- when I used to wait for the ‘once in two years’ opportunity to go to kerala during summer vacations.I used to savor the rice sambar etc served in the train.

- when we used to get ten gol guppa’s ( or poochkas ) for just one rupee !!! (I guess now its three pieces for two bucks.)

- when buying an ice cream from the thelewaala meant a lot of cajoling and doing things right ( completing the homework on time etc)

- when writing with fountain pens was the norm (apparently that is to improve our handwriting…well huh…I don’t think ball point pens would have made it worse) which would invariably lead to nice lil ink patterns of various colors (blue, black, red) on my clothes

- when choosing between Chelpauk and Camel ink boiled down to the price tag attached.

- when the blue inland envelopes formed the only means of communication..(telephone was a luxury for the bourgeois for most part of my school days..)

- when there was only one TV in my neighborhood and we didn’t even have a proper TV transmission tower in my town ( it was not until 1988 that we welcomed the idiot box and a TV transmission tower was set up in Balasore)

- when I looked forward to the Wednesdays for the Chitrahar, often completing my studies well before that, when Fridays and Sundays were reserved for the movies, mythological serials and cartoon shows….glued to He man & the masters of the universe, Indradhanush, Stone boy, Street hawk, Circus,Fauji,Rajni,Rangoli and a slew of other serials in the age of Doordarshan…

- when the only English fare on Doordarshan was ‘Yes minister’ ( never missed an episode )…would love to watch it again.

- when the likes of Byomkesh Bakshi and Mungerilal captured my imaginations

- when I never missed an episode of Sidharth Basu’s quiz programmes

- when the distinctive tune of Doordarshan ( and the logo) wafted across the neighbourhood as they started their afternoon and evening ‘karyakrams’.

- when the rains meant making paper boats and playing with it in the water pool formed in front of our house

- when November, December and January was meant for kite flying and a game of badminton

- when the first video game I played was a Sanyo box borrowed from a friend

- when I eagerly waited for the computer ‘period’ in school ( for the DOS games) and the way I struggled writing the first lines in BASIC

10 PRINT ‘hello’

20 END

(hope I got it right). I was simply in awe of these tiny machines that it took me a while to figure out how these tiny boxes interpreted what we wanted it do

- when annual school function, exhibitions and sports meets meant a couple of holidays and excitement all around

I wonder what the kids of today would have to write about their school days in this age of internet, playstations, cell phones, and cable TV.

The task of photographer is very difficult but very remarkable task, he the person shows things lively and admirable features in an excellent angle.  The photography as profession is a tedious work but as a hobby it is an interesting mind relaxing, and creative task that attractively work outs. Recently Google made out with the concept of street view photography.

This concept is funny, crazy moments are quickly grabbed into a small technology, without disturbing the public; the realistic images are being captured with any doubt. It is not a 2Dimensional view but with 360 degree views being clicked on all the items on the road. All the images speaks for its own originality; and hidden funs. The road is a place where Varity of actions take place; capturing the natural essence with the help of the camera is a tedious task. It also shows different feelings being shared on the road like friends meeting unexpectedly, some incidents, risky accidents due to carelessness; funny road crossing happenings and the list goes on without an end. The street view without any particular concept the images are captured. Many interesting sights are doing this hectic task in a best way. Sometimes hard but all times easy, creative and imaginative work.
